WHAT DOES THE TITLE "VIDÉASTE DE FRANCE" MEAN 🏅 ?
I’m very proud to have been awarded the title of ‘Vidéaste de France’.
There are only ten of us in France!
This title is designed to reward the excellence of French professional videographers whose work meets a set of strict and rigorous artistic and technical standards. It recognises creativity, technical expertise and a commitment to excellence: it’s a genuine qualification, a guarantee of recognition by peers and of quality for clients.
The “Vidéaste de France” title is awarded by a jury of recognised professional videographers. They are appointed by the FFPMI (French Federation of Photography and Image Professions), a representative professional organisation recognised by the public authorities.
IS THERE ALWAYS SO MUCH EMOTION IN EACH FILM?
You are unique and your wedding will be too. As a wedding filmmaker, my instinct and my sensitivity are always on the lookout for those beautiful moments when magic happens. I value human interaction and body language, I work tirelessly to create a bond and capture timeless emotions. My job is to capture reality, and your film will be a reflection of your wedding.
HOW FAR IN ADVANCE DO I NEED TO BOOK?
As soon as possible! In order to guarantee you the best possible work, I only accept a certain number of weddings per year, so I am regularly fully booked a year in advance. However, don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any last-minute request to check my availability. Depending on your date and the spread of weddings in the season, it is sometimes possible to book one more.
HOW DOES THE BOOKING PROCESS WORK?
A meeting is arranged to discuss your requirements. We’ll talk about you and your wedding, and together we’ll define your expectations and needs. We’ll look at what’s really important to you, and how best to personalise the experience. Following this meeting, I will send you a tailor-made order form including the contract. Your signature and payment of a 30% deposit will officially confirm your booking.
ARE THERE ANY TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION EXPENSES?
I can travel anywhere! Travel and accommodation costs are included in the final proposition, so there are no extra charges.
HOW IS THE SERVICE ORGANISED?
As the big day approaches, I’ll get back to you to arrange a preparatory meeting. Among other things, we’ll discuss your wishes, how the day will unfold, music and staging. Throughout the run-up to your wedding, I’m always on hand to talk things over with you.
WHAT HAPPENS ON THE D-DAY?
I’ll meet you at the agreed time and place. As discreetly as possible, I then film all the steps of your big day. Let yourselves be carried along, I’ll take care of everything!
IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET THE ORIGINAL RUSHES ?
There are several reasons why I don’t offer to make the original wedding rushes available to you :
- in order to produce a film of the highest quality, I shoot in a very heavy format, and at the end of the day I have more than 1TB (1000GB) of data!
- to play back each clip, you need a professional post-production software and a high-performance dedicated computer
- the format of the original rushes is ‘log’: to put it simply, this gives me a wide colour dynamic range for colour grading, which guarantees you some magnificent images, but in their raw state they are desaturated and decontrasted… not quite the dream film you’d expect!
- finally, like the baker who doesn’t give you the leftover flour he used to make your bread, I prefer to keep some of the magic of transmutation
WHAT EQUIPMENT DO YOU USE?
As a filmmaker, I use a professional camera and top-of-the-range lenses. The ergonomics are well thought out, so everything is discreet and easy to handle. A gyroscopic stabiliser, various microphones, a range of batteries and memory cards, the drone and all its equipment, tripods and a host of accessories complete the range of equipment needed for filming, all neatly stowed away in the trunk of my vehicle. A real post-production studio takes over: Mac Studio Max, double screen, sound card and monitoring, around twenty hard drives, and above all the best software, DaVinci Resolve Studio.
CAN THERE BE TECHNICAL PROBLEMS?
Although it’s never happened to me, technology isn’t infallible! Rest assured, I always have a back-up camera with me. There is also a system of multiple, systematic data back-ups.
IS THERE A PHOTO SERVICE?
Making a quality wedding film requires an investment of time, energy and concentration that doesn’t allow me to offer you photographs service at the same time. Moreover, certain crucial moments could not be captured in photo and video at the same time, which would be a shame. However, I can offer you a limited panel of quality photographers that I trust and with whom I am used to working: all you have to do is choose the one you like!
CAN WE CHOOSE THE MUSIC FOR THE VIDEO?
As a professional, I’m obliged to use music that I own the rights to. As I have a professional subscription to a music library, you can choose from a rich playlist of tracks in a variety of genres. I can also make suggestions, and you can also decide to trust me completely.
WHEN WILL WE RECEIVE OUR FILM?
So that you can enjoy the first images quickly, the teaser is delivered within 15 working days of the wedding. The main film and optional films are delivered within 40 working days of the wedding.
